TRANSFORMAÇÕES NAS PRIORIDADES SOCIOAMBIENTAIS EM SENADOR JOSÉ PORFÍRIO-PA APÓS CONSTRUÇÃO DA HIDRELÉTRICA BELO MONTE

Abstract

This dissertation analyzes the transformations in social and environmental priorities of the municipality of Senador Jose Porfirio-PA after construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric. It is known that the society / nature has caused profound changes and transformations in space. The arguments about the construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric fall within the broad context of the discourse that prove the reproduction of developmental hegemonic model in national energy planning policies in the Amazon. And among the consequences of these changes, two aspects require proper treatment by the government and society as a whole: environmental degradation and social impact caused by it. The greening of development discourse, with the arrival of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant, was strategically spread throughout the Xingu region of integration, as an avant-garde design to Regional Sustainable Development, working on creating jobs, strengthening the economy and improving the quality of life of the population. Debate is here, in particular the nature of the answers about what they think and what the views of the public manager and local community leaders in relation to social and environmental priorities of SJP municipality with the construction of the Belo Monte Dam, establishing what It was, what has changed or needs to change from the start of construction of the hydroelectric project.
