RESPONSABILIDADE SOCIOAMBIENTAL PRÁTICAS E DESAFIOS NAS INDÚSTRIAS MOVELEIRAS DE GOIÁS

Abstract

It is essential to align the strategies with corporate social responsibility in order to achieve sustainable regional development. The erroneous way of how the world is being explored and the diversity and quantity of waste produced a day by the people and companies are reasons for studies and research that aim to create approaches to minimize the negative impact on the environment. This survey aimed to grasp the practices and main challenges of the furniture industry in the state of Goiás as well as the implementation of a social management business through the a field research. The paper addressed the main historical events and motives that brought about the need to achieve sustainable development and also presented some tools that assist in finding a responsible social and environmental management. Were then discussed aspects of national and international furniture industry and the role of government in relation to sustainability. Finally, the methodology was presented and the outcomes taken in the survey. The conclusion of this study showed that the furniture sector in the state of Goiás is lacking in information and incentive actions towards sustainable development and that government agencies and non-governmental entities should join in the implementation of projects and programs that encourage entrepreneurs to invest in corporate social and environmental management.
