INDICADORES SOCIOECONÔMICOS DOS MUNICÍPIOS MARANHENSES DA 23ª REGIÃO DE PLANEJAMENTO: subsídios para o planejamento de políticas públicas

Abstract

This research presents an analysis of some economic and social indicators most used in diagnosis of the quality of life of the populations belonging to 23 planning region of the State of Maranhão. In addition to dynamic, the conceptual basis on growth, development, public policy, indicators and income inequality is heterogeneous leading to different analyses and interpretations. The analysis of the socioeconomic indicators do if relevant to the extent that this information can serve to be created possible actions or public policies aimed at the wellbeing of the population. The methodology of this study prioritizes the use of bibliographical research and explanatory, quantitative and qualitative approach as well as the inductive method with the purpose of giving support to data collected that were interpreted to make inferences about the research. The data collected and analysed may serve to municipal managers as well as its secretariat, be a holistic view of what has been analyzed so that they can create growth and development strategies, as well as implement actions aimed at improving the quality of life of these populations. The public-private partnership becomes feasible to improve improve the indicators related to the well-being of the population. The study made it possible to analyze economic and social indicators as evolution of population, GDP, GDP per capita, Gini Index, percentage of poor and extremely poor, HDI, longevity, infant mortality, fertility and education. It is concluded that these indicators, although they have limitations, are very useful, as are tools that can be leveraged by municipal managers to take early measures to achieve better management and aim to make necessary adjustments so that you can have within the economic and social sphere a happier and society evolved both in wealth and social environment.
