A RELEVÂNCIA DA MINERAÇÃO DO AMIANTO PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DO MUNICÍPIO DE MINAÇU/GO

Abstract

Historically mining has been important for Brazil, as well as to the State of Goiás economic and socially, since colonial times. Such activity has produced effects beyond the territorial limits of the companies that practice, strongly impacting the local urban core. Mining in a city can promote a significant boost in their economic and social development and meet the degree of dependence of municipal tax collection relating to revenues this action a necessity for the public manager and the local society. To the municipality of Minaçu, north of Goias, which was born from the asbestos mining and also has this practice, its biggest source of income, mining shows how vital source for the local driving force, since a significant portion of its revenues , 34.8% comes from this activity. Besides the factor storage, it is necessary to demonstrate social and environmental issues promoted by the mining industry in the city and compared to the other local economic sectors, for the manpower allocated in the mining sector, nearly 10% of active workers in the city, is hand direct work allocated this type of activity, generates payroll that strengthens the local market.
