AS COMPETÊNCIAS NA EFETIVAÇÃO DA MISSÃO DE UMA INSTITUIÇÃO DE EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR: UM ESTUDO DE CASO

This research presents a study whose main objective is to analyze the skills of the professionals in education of the Faculty of Education Santa Terezinha (FEST), a Higher Education Institution (HEI), located in the city of Imperatriz, in the south of Maranhão. In addition to the dynamic, the conceptual basis about skills is heterogeneous, comprising different analyzes and interpretations. In the specialized literature, Human Capital is understood as the main constituent of the Intangible Capital of an organization and as a synonym of skills. As a result, in this investigation, it is taken as the set of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values of professionals within their workforce. The analysis is to determine the extent to which education professionals realize the skills of their Human Capital for the realization of their institutional mission of the HEI where they work. In conducting the research, common approaches are used to case studies, as biographic and documental research, observations made by the researcher in the natural environment of work in the selected institution, and field research, using questionnaire in the form of scales. The conducted study allows to analyzing the intensity of the presence of the skills of the Human Capital and their organizational developments, and, although the results cannot be generalized to other similar situations, it provides subsidies for the management of the Human Capital with regard to the completion of the institutional mission.
