This dissertation presents a critical discussion about internet in schools, more specifically in rural schools. Therefore, the objective of this work is to identify and evaluate the challenges involved in providing broadband Internet in rural schools in Brazil. In this digital era in which the world lives, new technologies begin and end very quickly and accurately. The world has been the center of breakthrough breakthrough innovations in recent years and almost all of them related to internet connectivity. Thus, access to the Internet network is a matter of necessity, a right that is directly linked to citizenship, but students from non-computerized and disconnected schools can in no way compete with the demands of today's society. The present reality is that comparing rural schools with urban schools, there is a latent inequality. According to the INEP report: 76% of urban schools already have access to the internet, compared to 17% of connected schools compared to rural schools. Rural schools have to be restructured to be computerized, but there is no point in having a physical structure and training of educators if they can not actually join the worldwide "internet signal" network, which for many schools today is the challenge for development educational. Considering that Brazil is a country of more than 200 million inhabitants, with 8.5 million square kilometers, being the fifth largest in the world in territorial extension, it borders on 10 countries and possessing between maritime and terrestrial frontier more than 17 thousand kilometers, the study of new forms and disruptive technologies that can contribute to the integration of rural schools in the broadband internet network; is a very relevant topic. Being among the 10 largest economies in the world and being giant by nature impose some challenges to be able to bring connectivity to all regions of Brazil. Current technologies and telecommunications infrastructure do not allow operators to be providers throughout the national territory, as they, with the current technologies, can not reach isolated places in Brazil. The main reason for this isolation is the lack of infrastructure, financial resources for new network expansions, which can aggravate the asymmetry in social and digital inclusion between the most economically developed regions such as the South and Southeast and the less served regions such as the North, Northeast and Central West. This work proposes to identify forms of provision of broadband internet in the remote regions of Brazil. Through the use of the methodology of the case study, it was possible to conclude that the Ka band technology presents great potential in the Brazilian case, allowing the fundamental role of the teacher to be transmitted to the student at a distance, besides allowing the continuity of education be strengthened by the maintenance of the student, in your region, with your family.eng
